পাঁচে পঞ্চবাণ আসলে কি?
ছোট বেলায় ধারাপাত বইয়ে আমরা সকলেই পড়েছি পাঁচে পঞ্চবাণ। অনেকেই হয়তো জানেন না এই পঞ্চবাণ জিনিষটা আসলে কি। পঞ্চবাণের অর্থ হল পাঁচটি তীর। হিন্দু ধর্মে প্রেমের দেবতা হলেন কামদেব। তাঁর কাছে সবসময় পাঁচটি পুষ্পবাণ থাকে, যেগুলোকে একসঙ্গে বলা হয় পঞ্চবাণ। এই বাণ গুলি মানুষের মনে বিভিন্ন রকম আবেগ সৃষ্টি করে।
১. অরবিন্দ বাণ (সম্মোহন): শ্বেত পদ্ম ফুল দিয়ে তৈরি।
এই বাণ প্রেমের প্রথম স্তর বা আকর্ষণ সৃষ্টি করে।
২. অশোক বাণ (উন্মাদন): অশোক গাছের ফুল দিয়ে তৈরি। এটি প্রেমিক-প্রেমিকার মনে ব্যাকুলতা সৃষ্টি করে।
৩. চুত বাণ (শোষণ): আম্র মুকুল দিয়ে এই বাণ তৈরি। এর প্রভাবে মানুষ আবেগে আত্মহারা হয়ে পড়ে।
৪. নবমাল্লিকা বাণ (তাপন): মল্লিকা ফুলের বাণ। এই বাণ মিলনের আকাঙ্ক্ষা (সেক্স) জাগিয়ে তুলে।
৫. নীলোৎপল বাণ (স্তম্ভন): নীল পদ্ম ফুল দিয়ে তৈরি।
এই বাণের প্রভাবে প্রেমিক-প্রেমিকা একে অপরের কাছে সমর্পিত হয়।

Five by five
All of us have read Panche Panchbaan in Dharapat books during our childhood. Many may not know what these five things actually are. Panchavan means five arrows. Kamdev is the god of love in Hinduism. He always has five arrows, which together are called Panchavan. These arrows create different emotions in human mind.
1. Aurobindo Arrow (Hypnosis): Made of white lotus flowers.
This arrow creates the first level of love or attraction.
2. Ashoka Arrow (Insanity): Made from the flowers of the Ashoka tree. It creates confusion in the mind of lovers.
3. Chut Arrow (Shoshan): This arrow is made of Amr bud. Due to its effect, people lose themselves emotionally.
4. Navamallica vaana (Tapan): Mallika flower arrow. This arrow awakens the desire for intercourse (sex).
5. Nilotpal Arrow (Stambahan): Made of blue lotus flowers.
Under the influence of this arrow, lovers surrender to each other.
